Molokini Reef
Molikini is a reef made out of an old volcano. These picture are from a
twilight dive, so the pictures
may be a little dark because that's when the creatures come out!

Black Trigger Fish and divers... |
Racoon Butterfly with domino damsels |
Giant Manta Ray 6-7 foot |
White Tip Reef Shark 5 foot
Pregnant White Tip Reef Shark Sleeping under a ledge Reef Sharks are the only ones that can sleep by sitting still. All others have to keep moving. |
Male gilded triggerfish |
Trumpetfish. How's that for screaming yellow? |
This is Garbanzo, a 6 foot plus Yellow Margin Moray Eel. The local divers have know about him and used to feed him for years. He's believed to be between 35 and 40 years old!!! |
Here, Garbanzo is being coaxed out by a dive master who used to feed him. Later when the dive master petted him and stroked his neck, and the eel opened his jaws and looked for food. Then the DM scolded him and backed off... |
Notice the wrinkled skin along his neck. He is an old guy! But evidently he can take care of himself quite okay. |
Extremely rare Masked Angel. Only visible at Molokini Reef, Maui, or at depths of 200 feet! |
A nice picture of the Masked Angel floating. The light here is deceptive. The visibility is 110-120 feet. The fish is at about 75 feet. |
Flashlights of a couple of divers uncover the eye of an octopus. |
A closer look reveals his mate, and that they are indeed an octopuses, and they aren't interested in any of the tech stocks we have to offer. |
Moorish Idols. (check out that nose decoration!) |
